There are many options for developing a website presence for your business, from the do-it-yourself kits to the teenage whizkid to the professional developer. How do you choose the best option to market your business?
I look at it this way: Sure, I can prepare my own taxes instead of having my accountant prepare them for me. But, just because I can, doesn’t mean I’ll do it right. Taxes are definitely not my expertise, and I’m not versed on all the new laws, the do’s, the don’ts, and the stay away froms, but, nevertheless, I can make the attempt. But where it really counts are the results of my attempt versus a professional’s expertise, and that’s a no-brainer. The end result will be a disaster, in my case, probably resulting in an audit, paying too much, or not paying enough. And guess what? I’d end up back at my accountant’s anyway, where I should have went to begin with!
That same analogy applies to developing your website presence. You can do it yourself OR have an amateur design a site for you. The results cannot be expected to be nearly the same when compared to a professional website developer. If you want a clean, professional look, to be found in the search engines, learn how to use your website as the marketing hub of your business, sell more products and services, then you want to go with a pro. IF you have the time to figure out how to put together the promises of a do-it-yourself site or are worried about hurting your friend’s feelings because he did a poor job developing your site, sooner or later, you will either be frustrated, embarrassed, dissatisfied, and eventually end up with an experienced webmaster regardless. How do we know this? This is probably 50% of our business, where clients go through this very same process. Sound familiar to you?
Think it through about your web marketing. Your website presence is a critical impression of YOUR COMPANY’S credibility, plus your website is the nucleus of your marketing arsenal. And let’s not forget about the Big Guy…..Google.
